Chrono Trigger Lucca Ashtear Cosplay
Chrono Trigger isn’t a franchise I see costumes from on a regular basis, so it was refreshing to see Jelfish’s, also known as Kat, take on Lucca Ashtear. The main part of the cosplay looks pretty straightforward to assemble, but the helmet is a different story. It was her first time making a helmet, and Jelfish crafted it from scratch. She drafted it from duct tape (you can see pictures below) and then transferred the patterns to Worbla. She really studied figures and concept art to capture the look of Lucca’s helmet. She said:
I’ve been focusing on taking my time and learning new things this go around. Making a helmet was more taxing to make than I expected, especially with worbla and foam expanding and contracting as it’s heated and cools- not to mention needing to form that sucker and make sure bubbles didn’t appear! The oddball that I wasn’t expecting to have difficulty with was the curve of the metal around the helmet. So glad I made a mockup first, but even that was subject to change after heating up my worbla sandwich.
